Personally I preferred color in my leatherwork projects and I wasn't surprised that this is what people saw first in my pieces. Contrast is most important to bring out the tooling detail, the antique finishes exhibit this very well. the color contrast is so that a certain pattern or color can be emphasized, I like to be able to "see" the tooling or design. But if someone has a certain request that I can do, I'll certainly try to get them what they want.
